charlotte wine + food’s First-Ever Holiday Gift Drive
We were thrilled to announce we exceeded our $4,000 goal for our Holiday Gift Drive and fulfilled each of our charity partners' wish lists.
With special thanks to Chairman Emeritus David Furr and his wife Pam for their $4,000 matching donation, and the other generous donations from CW+F supporters,
we will also distributed a total of $5,000 in cash donations to our four charity partners. A very merry surprise holiday bonus
Thank you for making the holiday season brighter for these children and their families!
Charlotte Wine + Food is a 501 (c) 3 and all donations are 100% tax-deducible.
GenOne requested a brand new Apple Air laptop to gift to a deserving graduating high school senior - a valuable and necessary tool for any college-bound student. The student was identified by GenOne as someone with financial need who has also shown outstanding commitment to their academic achievement and personal growth throughout participation in GenOne's program. Thanks to CW+F Board Member Ariail Siggins & 7 Mile Advisors for sponsoring this gift!
Mitchell's Fund requested art supplies and special card games to be used in art and play therapy for sick children and their families under the care of Novant Hemby Children's Hospital. These therapies provided by a full-time certified therapist funded by Mitchell's Fund help children navigate the shock of diagnosis, pain and anxiety during treatment and, in some cases, help children prepare for end of life. CW+F delivered 30 sets of markers and journals as well as a full tub of new games.
The Learning Collaborative (TLC) requested a set of new socks, underwear, sweatpants, and shirts for each of the 50 pre-school children currently enrolled in their tuition-free preschool program for underserved children. These clean clothes are used in the case of accidents at school ensuring all students feel comfortable and confident to make the most of their school day.
The Relatives requested stockings filled with fun holiday gifts for the 50 young adults facing crisis and homelessness who attended their annual On Ramp Holiday Party on Dec. 18. At the party, generous supporters provided a big lunch, and then the young adults got to "shop" for whatever items they needed (but everything was free!). Each stocking included a toothbrush and toothpaste, gloves and hand warmers, travel kleenex, a $10 Walmart gift card, chapstick, candy canes, and an orange.
