1000-Point Tasting & 300+ Point Wine Dinner | April 17, 2021

Charlotte Wine + Food hosted the 1000-Point Tasting & 300+ Point Wine Dinner, limited to 50 very lucky guests, that started with a tasting of ten 100-point-rated wines held in The Grand Bohemian Hotel’s state-of-the-art Palace Ballroom. Special guests of the evening included Sommeliers Anthony Washington, Estate Director at Rewa Vineyards, Paula De Pano, Beverage & Service Director at The Fearrington House Restaurant, along with CW+F Chairman, Palmer Steel. Following the tasting, the festivities resumed outdoors on the elegant Queen’s Terrace at the hotel for a multi-course dinner created by Chef Whitney Thomas including a live auction that featured the best wine and experience lots on offer for the week.

Featured wines during the tasting included the 2014 Morlet Family Vineyards La Proportion Dorée Sonoma White Wine, 2005 Bellevue Mondotte, 2009 Château Smith Haut Lafitte, 2015 Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008 Vérité La Muse, 2013 Vineyard 29 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2016 Joseph Phelps Insignia, 2007 Hundred Acre Kayli Morgan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2014 Outpost True Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Featured wines during the dinner included the 2019 Wittmann ‘Morstein’ Grosses Gewächs Riesling, 2007 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, 2016 Chappellet Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2018 Rewa Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wines generously donated from the cellars of: Tom & Kelly Bohrer, Jeff & Paula Conway, Perrin & Lisa Dargan, Pat & Debbie Phillips, Palmer Steel & Maria Francis, Donald Thompson, Ed & Pam Young, and The Spire Collection.

All proceeds benefited GenOne, Mitchell’s Fund, The Learning Collaborative, and The Relatives.
