2020 Winemaker Honoree Pop-Up Dinner ft. Julien Fayard | May 26, 2021
Charlotte Wine + Food hosted a very special evening with 2020 Winemaker Honoree Julien Fayard of Napa Valley fame. Julien told his story and shared his passion for winemaking while leading patrons through a selection of his Julien Fayard, Just Pink, Nicholson Jones, and Covert wines. Bardo Executive Chef Michael Noll and Chef William Underwood curated a thoughtfully crafted 7-course tasting menu to perfectly pair with the featured wines.
We were so excited to welcome Julien to Charlotte IN PERSON after only being able to host an event virtually with him in 2020. This night was made even more special as we auctioned off two lots of Julien’s first 100-point wine - the 2018 Julien Fayard Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
The featured wines of the evening included the 2020 Just Pink Rosé, 2018 Nicholson Jones Dolly Hill Chardonnay, 2018 Julien Fayard McGah Sauvignon Blanc, 2018 Julien Fayard Platt Pinot Noir, 2016 Julien Fayard Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Library Selection), 2018 Julien Fayard Martinez Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2017 Covert Cabernet Franc.
All proceeds benefited GenOne, Mitchell’s Fund, The Learning Collaborative, and The Relatives.
